- How to replace a complexion:
1. Get your desired textures. For example, FemaleHead.dds and FemaleHead_s.dds from ALT2: Adaptations.
2. Open the Complexions mod folder, or a path in Skyrim\Data (depends on your installation method): textures\actors\character\extrafemale You will see a list of 'face' folders numbered 1 to 20.
3. Choose a folder - and so a complexion - you'd like to use. Say it's going to be 'face3'. In that case, you'll replace a 3rd complexion added by Complexions.esp.
4. Copy your desired FemaleHead.dds and FemaleHead_s.dds to textures\actors\character\extrafemale\face3 and replace the files with yours.
5. If needed, copy a custom detail map. Say it's freckles from Fair Skin: Textures\Actors\Character\Female\femaleheaddetail_frekles.dds
You need to copy this file and rename it to femaleheaddetail.dds
Then you copy that file to 'face3' and replace the original femaleheaddetail.dds, simple as that.
You can do the same thing with head normal maps.
For example, you'd like to use female orc head normal map, which is called femaleheadorc_msn.dds
You'll need to rename it to femalehead_msn.dds and then replace the files in 'face3' folder in this example.
Nothing from the vanilla game is replaced, so don't worry.
Obviously, you can use any folder (face10, face25, 20, etc) you'd like.
